Sunday Entry #2:

I transferred a few more of my tapes to cd last night and this morning. I get in moods to hear things and go to town getting them transferred over. Now tomorrow when I drive to work I have four new cd's to listen to. Well, not new, but stuff I haven't heard since I had a tape player in my car. So they really do feel like new!

I make a lot of mixes using a lot of my existing music. I have an old country mix made from old 45's and albums and then a couple of 60's and 70's mixes that I love. I've got one of nothing but silly songs that make me laugh. There's the blood pumping, boot to the face mix that I work out with. Now I'm thinking of making a new one saluting the power ballads of the 80's and early 90's hair bands. Ah yes, that will be a fun one and will probably make me laugh as much as the mix of silly songs. Especially with my collection and how I LOVE to poke fun at most sappy ballad-type songs.

Big Mike gave me a call today and said that he was tempted to come and see me today but he knew that was a bad idea. I'm glad he said it, because I didn't want to have to even though I would have loved to have seen him. That's not the point.

I think I'm going to go and bury myself in more of my music. I think I will be transferring "The Four Horsemen: Nobody Said It Was Easy" next in memory of Frank C. Starr. I can't wait to hear those songs again. If I had ever been talented enough to have been in a rock and roll band, The Four Horsemen would have been the gritty, badass, bar band sound I would have gone for. Kind of like the Georgia Sattellites...but meaner.

"Who's gonna take some pity on my lonely tired wings?"
