Jasper and I just got home from a trip to the vet. He wasn't feeling so well and gave me quite a scare.

I won't go into all the big, fat, hairy details but it seems my baby might have a herniated disc in his back. We'll know more once his bloodwork comes back. They wanted to do bloodwork to make sure it's not a liver problem. Guess liver problems can have the same symptoms and the bloodwork will tell the complete story.

After a cortisone shot at the vet, the big guy is currently sleeping peacefully on the floor right by me, he didn't get much sleep last night and neither did I. He has gotten up to greet one of his visitors and has felt good enough to bark at another who knocked on the door rather than just walk right in like everyone knows they are supposed to do. If you walk in, you're family = no bark. If you knock, you don't belong = BARK!

I know Jasper is not a young pup anymore, but he has always been a happy and healthy mutt. Last night and today just scared me to death.
