Friday, Jun. 13, 2008 - 9:31 pm The Iron Maiden show on Friday was SO good. But, truth be told, I've never seen a bad Iron Maiden show. I had gotten general admission tickets right on the floor. We found a great spot where we could see everything but wouldn't be in any real danger of getting crushed and so that Flea wouldn't get clausterphobic. The arena was packed, but that's how it always is at Maiden shows. It was hotter than Hell and I was sweating to death but somehow Flea was comfortable! We made a hairy and somewhat odorous friend. He started out in front of us and ended up next to me. I must admit that having him next to me was much better than being downwind of him. He was very polite to us through the entire show and he was completely enjoying himself. So he was okay with us. I was only disappointed in one thing. They didn't play 'The Wicker Man'. Ah well, I suppose with as many albums as they have they can't go playing their entire catalog, can they? When the encore was over, our hairy and somewhat odorous friend put his arm around my waist and said "I don't know what I enjoyed more, the show or standing next to you while you sang every single word! That was awesome!" Aww! The moment we walked out the doors into the night air I saw My Jim. Too crazy to run into someone I know amongst thousands of poeple. What was even crazier is that I was talking about him to Flea on the way to the show. I'm glad she got to meet him. I got another t-shirt and a coffee mug. I am a happy girl. I was also happy that Flea enjoyed herself. I would have felt awful for dragging her out to it if she hadn't had a good time. The next summer event I am looking forward to is the Cubs game with Cindy on July 26th (a present for her 40th birthday). Then AMY COMES HOME in August. YAY!!! |Where I've Been. - What's Next.
