I woke up really early and wanted to start working on my yard today. But I figured my neighbors would kill me if I started making with the noisy at 7am. So I gave them an hour reprieve and started at 8am.

Nature got me back for it though because while I was playing with my new weed whacker, it started raining on me.

DAMNIT!!!

When I bought the house there was a hedge trimmer on a shelf. I've never tried it to see if worked until today. The last time the hedges got trimmed, Flea did it. I was supposed to help but I ended up playing with the girls in the autumn leaves instead.

Today, I trimmed the hedges all by myself. Well, Cindy WAS watching from across the street while she was cleaning her windows. She brought me a Diet Coke. It's good to have friends looking out for you. However, I wish she would have told me to wear long pants BEFORE I started the little project. I am scratched up from head to toe.

Aside from all that, the hedge trimmer that came with the house worked! I needed to borrow Cindy's long extention cord. The one that was used when the street flooded and my side of the street lost power. That cord ran from Cindy's house across the street to two of my neighbors houses to keep their generators running. It has been submerged in water and run over by numerous cars and it survived.

But it didn't survive ME and my hedge trimmer.

Oops.

So, after I ran to the hardware store to purchase TWO new extention cords, I finished the hedges.

Not too bad for my first time and having absolutely no clue what I was doing.
